Chromosome staining/banding/FISH
Constitutive heterochromatin was detected in the centromere region of most of the chromosomes. Heterochromatic block was also observed in the terminal regions of the first metacentric pair. The NOR was detected by silver staining (Ag-NOR) and the FISH technique (using the 18S rDNA probe) on the interstitial region of the short arm of the second metacentric chromosome pair. The 5S rDNA sites were located in the terminal region of the short arms of five chromosome pairs 2, 15, 17, 23, and 26.
